sometimes my brain just wants to make every single piece i do 100% perfect even though that's subjective and perfect doesn't really exist. but i can't help but beat myself up like i'm drawing a character professionally for a comic even though that's not at all what i do. i wish i could rip my skin open and tell my brain to shut the fuck up.
Sometimes what I do is just intentionally make some less polished artworks. Not everything needs a super clean art style, and the less I limit myself to only making higher-effort artworks, the more easily I can motivate myself to just draw.
Hell, some of the emotions you’re trying to express can be kinda raw. It’s fine to be raw with your art too. They’re your feelings, you don’t have to make them look marketable.
